Every TravelJar departure is built for people joining without a pre-formed group. Over 60% of our travellers book solo and travel with the group.
Travelling solo and travelling alone are different things. Our fixed-departure trips are designed around the first: you book on your own, and you land into a group that is already set up to include you — shared transfers, group stays, a trip captain who knows everyone's name by the first evening.
That structure matters most for the parts of a trip that are genuinely harder alone. Airport transfers at odd hours, first-night check-ins, activity bookings that assume a minimum group size, and the ordinary safety margin of having people who notice if you do not come back for dinner.
Room-sharing is arranged with travellers of the same gender by default, and you can request a private room on most departures. Groups skew toward similar age ranges so the trip actually feels like company rather than a coach tour.
